Still got questions?
We're here with the answers you need.
Here's what sole proprietors often want to know before getting started with FIN.
How does the integration with einzly.ch work?
It's simple: once our webhook identifies your API, your einzly account is automatically connected to the FIN portal. With a single click, your revenue, expenses, allowances and social-security data are transferred directly to us — no manual data entry, no room for error.
Is the initial consultation really free of charge?
Yes. In our first, no-obligation consultation we take the time to understand your unique situation as a sole proprietor — completely free of charge.
How secure is my data in the FIN portal?
Your documents are stored securely in the Swiss Cloud and access is protected by two-factor authentication. Both FIN and einzly operate under Swiss data protection standards.
What is a SPOC?
SPOC stands for "Single Point of Contact". You have one dedicated tax advisor at FIN who guides you through every stage of your business and financial life — from your first return to long-term optimisation.
Will you handle the deadline extension for me?
Yes, a deadline extension is already included in the Basic Package so you never face time pressure during tax season.
What happens if the tax authorities have follow-up questions?
You can add simple tax representation as a modular service. In the Premium and All-Inclusive packages we provide full representation with the authorities and handle every follow-up question for you.
How do I declare my income from my sole proprietorship?
We guide you through the supplementary form for self-employed individuals (Hilfsblatt Selbstständige) so that your business income is recorded correctly and transparently. With einzly connected, most of the data is already structured for us.
Will you find all possible deductions for me?
We don't just fill out forms — we actively look for optimisation opportunities for this year and the next, from home office and travel to professional development and health costs.
Do you consider Pillar 3a and pension fund buy-ins?
Definitely. These are central components of our long-term wealth and pension planning strategy for self-employed clients, and often represent the single largest tax saving opportunity for sole proprietors.
Is foreign income also taken into account?
Yes. We have deep expertise in declaring foreign assets and cross-border tax matters — specifically for expat founders and international freelancers operating from Switzerland.
Do I have to register for social security as a sole proprietor?
Yes. Self-employment in Switzerland requires AHV/IV/EO registration with your compensation office. We flag the requirement during onboarding and coordinate with your einzly data to ensure contributions are declared correctly.
Can FIN handle my VAT filings?
Yes. We offer VAT processing as a dedicated add-on or as part of our more comprehensive service packages (Premium, All-Inclusive).
When do I need to register for VAT as a sole proprietor?
VAT registration is mandatory once your annual turnover from taxable activities exceeds CHF 100,000. Below that threshold, registration is voluntary — we can run the numbers and advise whether opting in makes financial sense for your business.
How does einzly help with VAT?
Through the API connection, all relevant revenue and expenses are exported directly from einzly — forming a clean, structured basis for accurate quarterly or semi-annual VAT filings.
Effective rate, flat-rate or net-tax rate — which VAT method is right for me?
Small businesses can often choose between the standard method, the flat-rate (Saldosteuersatz) or the net-tax method. The right choice depends on your industry margins and deductible input tax. We review your einzly data and recommend the most tax-efficient option.
Which package is right for me as a sole proprietor?
The Basic package covers a straightforward tax return with all deductions. Premium adds einzly integration, a personal consultation and full representation — the sweet spot for most Einzelfirmen. All-Inclusive adds priority processing, mid-year planning and a multi-year optimisation strategy with no surprise add-ons.
Are there hidden fees?
No. Every price on this page is a starting flat rate. Add-ons are listed transparently in the "Additional Services" section and only apply if your situation actually requires them.
Can I switch packages later?
Yes. Many clients start with Basic and upgrade to Premium or All-Inclusive once their business grows or tax representation becomes valuable. We always charge the difference, never the full package twice.
Does FIN work with clients across all cantons?
Yes. We file for clients in every Swiss canton. A small surcharge applies for non-Zurich cantons, listed in the add-ons — this covers the cantonal software and procedural differences.
